Five Postcards from the Clouds was originally written for flute, soprano, double bass, and violin. It has since been arranged in the following instrumentations:
1) quadruple string trios and four soloists (flute, clarinet, trombone, and percussion)
2) flute, clarinet, violin, and cello
3) string quintet
