Written for piano and generative live electronics, the work features a pseudo-autonomous machine that continuously tracks the performer’s input and generates an ever-evolving stream of pitch material. The electronic layer behaves like flowing water—adaptive, continuous, and responsive—while the piano intervenes as a series of solid gestures, like stones cast into a stream, redirecting and reshaping the flow.
Through this interplay, the piece explores transformations in the energetic motion of water, conceptually translating the shifting intensities and directions of water flow into sound. Rather than interpreting water descriptively, the work seeks to evoke its underlying spirit, as Bruce Lee states: “[...]be formless, shapeless—like water[...].”

《若水》为钢琴与生成式现场电声而作,并为此专门设计了一套伪自主机器(pseudo-autonomous machine)。该系统持续追踪演奏者的输入信号,并实时生成不断流动的声音材料。作品中,电声如同潺潺水流,持续变化、延展;钢琴则仿佛投入水中的石块,以离散而有力的介入,引导并重塑水流的走向。通过钢琴与电声之间的互动,作品探索水之能量在运动中的转化过程,将水流强度与方向的变化转译为声音形态。作品并非对“水”的具象描绘,而是试图通过呈现其自然姿态,唤起水所蕴含的内在精神——正如李小龙所言:无形、无状,若水一般。
